Fudgy Brownie Recipe Requires 72-Hour Fridge Wait

A TikTok recipe for '100-Hour' brownies has gone viral, claiming that chilling the batter for up to 72 hours before baking results in an 'extremely fudgy' texture. The method, originally created by food content creator Alvin Zhou, involves refrigerating the brownie mix to intensify the chocolate flavour and boost moistness.

TikTok user Mia Challiner demonstrated the recipe, which has amassed over 2.1 million views. She advised wrapping the batter in clingfilm and refrigerating for four days, stating: 'This is basically what makes the brownies extremely fudgy and decadent.'

The lengthy preparation time sparked debate among viewers. One commenter, Katja, said: 'As a chef. 100 hours making a brownie is a waste of time. It does nothing.' Others expressed impatience, with Chloe writing: 'I don't have the self control to wait 4 days for brownies.' However, some praised the results, with Simon commenting: 'OMG...made them...incredible, you have to try them.'
