A 41-year-old man has shared his remarkable weight loss journey on Reddit, revealing he lost 90lbs (around 40kg) in just 10 months by making two simple lifestyle changes. The man, who weighed 263lbs (119kg) at the start, now tips the scales at 173lbs (78.5kg).
In his post, which garnered over 17,000 upvotes, he credited his transformation to 'clean food and movement'. He wrote: 'All natural just clean and movement. Now it's time to build muscle.' The before-and-after photos show a dramatic difference, with the man now sporting a smaller frame, though with some excess skin.
Commenters were quick to praise his achievement. One wrote: 'Insanely impressive. Congrats and good luck on your journey.' Another added: 'Incredible. Let's go.' A third noted the likely health improvements, saying: 'I'm sure your cholesterol, blood pressure, resting heart rate and all other markers have improved like crazy.'
Weight loss is known to reduce risks for heart disease, type-2 diabetes and high blood pressure, while improving sleep, mobility, energy and mental health. It can also lessen joint pain, lower cholesterol, improve blood sugar, strengthen the immune system, and even reverse fatty liver disease.
The NHS offers free weight loss programmes, including a 12-week plan for football fans and a Digital Weight Management Programme for those who are obese. Many local authorities in England also provide free behavioural weight management services for adults.
