Woman Loses Nearly 6 Stone on Mounjaro, Shares Nausea Remedy

A project manager from Cambridgeshire has revealed how Mounjaro injections helped her shed nearly six stone, dropping a dress size each month, and said food no longer 'feels like an addiction'. Portia Devine, 35, from Ely, reached her heaviest weight of 14st 7lbs (92.1kg) in 2022, with a BMI of 38.4. She described being trapped in a cycle of emotional eating and low self-esteem, where thoughts of food were 'constant'.

Since starting Mounjaro in April 2025, Ms Devine has lost weight consistently, now weighing 8st 11lbs (55.8kg) and wearing a size eight. She pays £210 a month for the medication and check-ups but no longer goes to the gym due to cost. She told PA Real Life: 'Food used to feel like an addiction – I was always thinking about it. Mounjaro has been the best decision I’ve ever made – food is still enjoyable but I view it as fuel now.'

Ms Devine struggled with weight since age ten and reached her highest weight after a relationship ended, leading to emotional eating. She had tried 'every diet' without lasting success. In 2022, she weighed 14st 7lbs and wore size 18, but by 2025 she had reduced to 12st (76.2kg) and size 14 through gym and diet, before hitting a plateau.

After starting Mounjaro, she said the 'food noise' disappeared instantly. She lost 5lbs in the first week, 3lbs in the second, and averages 2lbs per week since. To manage nausea, a common side effect, she uses Sea-Band acupressure bands, which she described as 'a lifesaver'. Ms Devine added: 'It’s changed my life – I can’t believe how well it has worked.'
