Jennifer Aniston's 29p Superfood Secret for a Youthful Glow

Jennifer Aniston, best known for her role as Rachel Green in Friends, has long been admired for her youthful appearance. The 56-year-old actress credits part of her healthy lifestyle to a simple salad topping: quinoa.

Quinoa, a staple of the Mediterranean diet, is a complete protein containing all nine essential amino acids. It is also gluten-free, fibre-rich, and packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals. According to BBC Good Food, these properties make it particularly beneficial for vegetarians and vegans.

The high protein content in quinoa can help curb hunger hormones, making it easier to manage weight. Additionally, its fibre content (about 2.8g per 100g when cooked) supports digestion and gut health. Quinoa is also rich in vitamins A and B2, which are beneficial for skin, eyes, and the nervous system, potentially reducing fine lines and promoting a radiant complexion.

Other health benefits include a low glycemic index, making it suitable for diabetics, and a high iron content that helps combat anaemia. Quinoa also contains omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium.

Despite being slightly pricier than other grains, quinoa remains affordable. Asda sells a 300g pack for £2.97, equating to around 29p per 30g uncooked serving. Aniston reportedly includes it in her salads for an extra nutritional boost.
