A fitness coach who claims to have lost 20lbs this year has revealed the high-protein food items she buys from Aldi to aid her weight loss. Hawys D, a self-proclaimed 'muscle growth coach', shares diet advice on Instagram under the handle @coaching_in_hd.
In a recent video, Hawys showed her 44,100 followers the 'protein bangers' she purchases from the supermarket. Her first suggestion was a Moser Roth 70% cocoa dark chocolate bar, which she says is 'full of antioxidants' and helps curb sweet cravings. She also picked up chipotle chilli wraps, noting they contain less than 100 calories and are 'great for packing with salad and protein'.
Other items included The Fingermonger's Tuna tins in flavours such as Soy and Ginger, Chilli and Garlic, and Lemon and Thyme. Hawys described them as 'perfect single serve' and 'only 99p, so good for the wallet'. She also recommended Tandoori Chicken Buddha Bowls, which are 'a little over 300 calories and have a decent whack of protein'.
In the meat aisle, she selected turkey mince, claiming it has 'slightly more nutrients than chicken', and chicken mince on a 30% discount. Lean pork sausages, each containing just 71 calories, were suggested as a 'nice change for your weekend fry-up'. For fruit, she chose 'wonky strawberries' at only 100 calories per punnet, and sweet potatoes for making air fryer fries, describing them as an 'excellent source of fibre and Vitamin A'.
Hawys also added Turkish grains for 'added protein and fibre', but passed on sugar-free jelly, arguing it would do 'naff all to fill you up'. She also advised against protein pizza, suggesting homemade versions with fewer calories and more protein. The video was well-received, with fans commenting that it was 'super helpful' and praising the flavoured tuna tins.
