Davina McCall, who returns to The Masked Singer panel tonight, has been advised to reconsider her dietary choices following her cancer diagnosis. The 58-year-old presenter spoke with food writer Ella Woodward, known as Deliciously Ella, on the Begin Again podcast about her health journey.
McCall, who underwent breast cancer surgery last October and had a benign brain tumour removed a year earlier, revealed she had considered switching to an all-organic diet. However, Woodward cautioned against the necessity, stating that while organic produce can be beneficial, it is not essential and can be prohibitively expensive.
The NHS Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has also addressed this issue, noting that there is no consistent evidence that organic foods reduce cancer risk more than non-organic options. The Trust emphasises that a varied diet rich in plant foods is more important than exclusively choosing organic.
Separately, McCall has made significant lifestyle changes, including reducing her working week to four days. She told the Miss Me? podcast that her health scare prompted her to reassess priorities, embracing change despite its initial fear. 'I feel so much better now about my life and trying to get it more balanced,' she said.
The Masked Singer airs tonight at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.
