Alison Hammond reveals 11st weight loss secrets at new Channel 4 show launch

Alison Hammond showcased her 11-stone weight loss at the launch of her new Channel 4 series, Your Song, on Wednesday. The 51-year-old presenter attended the event in a denim zipped dress alongside co-star Sam Ryder.

Hammond previously shared that a pre-diabetes health warning prompted her to adopt a healthier lifestyle. At her heaviest, she weighed 30 stone. She began her transformation five years ago with a personal trainer and a stricter diet, and now also does Reformer Pilates and boxing.

Speaking to the Radio Times, she said: 'I've had a personal trainer for five years, even when I was at my biggest. But I had a childish mentality with regards to food, especially toffees – but now I'll only have a couple a day.' She added: 'We're not getting any younger, are we, babes? You realise at some point you've got to look after yourself.'

Hammond told Women's Health that her mother's Type 2 diabetes and her own pre-diabetic diagnosis were a wake-up call. 'The sweets had to stop, and the fatty foods,' she said. She also revealed she avoids weight-loss jabs, preferring exercise and diet changes.

The new show, Your Song, features everyday people performing meaningful songs on a travelling pop-up stage, with Sam Ryder and Paloma Faith as mentors. At the launch, Hammond joined Ryder on stage with a guitar.
