Woman, 78, Dies After Car Park Collision in Saltash Waitrose

A 78-year-old woman has died following a multi-vehicle collision in the car park of a Waitrose supermarket in Saltash, Cornwall. The incident occurred at around 11:45am on Thursday, 30 October, in the store's car park on Avery Way.

Emergency services, including police, ambulance crews, and an air ambulance, attended the scene. The collision involved a blue Volvo V40, which struck three parked and unattended vehicles: a Suzuki Swift, a Ford Focus, and a Mercedes Sprinter van.

The driver of the Volvo, a woman from Saltash, was pronounced dead at the scene. A section of the car park was cordoned off while specialist roads policing officers conducted an investigation.

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward. A spokesperson said: 'Officers are appealing for witnesses following a traffic collision at a Saltash supermarket car park in which a woman died.'
