Trevor Phillips' daughter dies after 22-year anorexia battle

Sushila Phillips, the 36-year-old daughter of anti-racism campaigner Trevor Phillips, has died after living with anorexia for more than two decades. She passed away peacefully at home last weekend with her parents by her side.

Her sister Holiday shared the news on Facebook, describing Sushila as 'one of the wisest, kindest, strongest, and funniest people I knew'. She said her sister was 'a force and the most beautiful soul I ever knew' and vowed to continue her fight for mental health awareness.

Trevor Phillips, 63, wrote about his daughter's struggle in a Times article last month, comparing it to Meghan Markle's experiences. He described watching helplessly for over 20 years as his daughter battled a severe eating disorder, and recalled having to prevent her from jumping out of a moving car.

The death comes weeks after reality TV star Nikki Grahame, 38, died while receiving treatment for an eating disorder. Helplines for eating disorder support are available in the UK, US, Australia, and internationally.
