People claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP) are set to receive a cash increase of up to approximately £371 per year from April 6, 2026. The benefit, which supports individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions requiring extra care or mobility assistance, will rise by 3.8%.
Currently, PIP payments range from £29.20 to £187.45 per week, with awards typically paid every four weeks, resulting in amounts between £116.80 and £749.80. Those on the highest award currently receive just over £9,747 annually, which will increase to around £10,119 from the new financial year.
Claimants on the lowest award—the standard mobility component only—will see an annual increase of £57.20. The exact payment combinations from April 6, 2026, have been outlined by the Department for Work and Pensions.
The uplift is part of the annual benefits uprating, reflecting inflation and cost-of-living adjustments. PIP is designed to help with the extra costs faced by people with long-term health conditions or disabilities.
