Katie Price has expressed grave concerns that her eldest son Harvey could face a fatal heart attack if he doesn't achieve significant weight loss soon. The 23-year-old, who lives with Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic disorder causing constant hunger and eating urges, has seen his weight escalate to dangerous levels.
Medical Complexities and Weight Struggles
Harvey Price's health challenges extend beyond Prader-Willi syndrome. He also manages multiple conditions including autism, septo-optic dysplasia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder. These combined factors have contributed to severe obesity, with his weight reaching almost 30 stone in April 2025 before dietary adjustments helped him lose 1.5 stone.
Frustration Over Treatment Delays
In a candid discussion on The Katie Price Show podcast with her sister Sophie, Katie revealed ongoing frustrations with Harvey's medical care. Despite developing a plan with healthcare professionals to administer the weight loss injection Mounjaro over a year ago, Harvey still hasn't received the prescription.
'I've been persistently contacting doctors about getting him on Mounjaro,' Katie explained during the podcast episode. 'The NHS recognizes he's in the obese category, but progress has been painfully slow.'
Desperate Measures and Health Warnings
The television personality described considering extraordinary measures to secure treatment, including appealing to her Instagram followers for private medical assistance. 'I'm planning to post on Instagram asking if any private doctors can help,' she disclosed. 'I'm not criticizing the NHS, but we need urgent action.'
Katie shared alarming observations about Harvey's breathing patterns during sleep, noting snoring, wheezing, and breath-holding episodes. 'When he sleeps, I worry constantly,' she confessed. 'He's massive and continues growing larger. Medical professionals warned years ago that without weight loss, he's prone to a heart attack.'
Treatment Pathways and Living Arrangements
In November, Katie mentioned doctors were considering a new weight loss drug for Harvey after clinical trials concluded, suggesting Mounjaro could accelerate the process if administered first. She clarified that dietary approaches were initially prioritized before medication.
Regarding Harvey's living situation, Katie explained he's currently in temporary accommodation while awaiting placement in an independent living facility near her home. Delays have caused significant frustration, with the planned move originally scheduled for July.
'Harvey despises his current temporary housing,' Katie revealed. 'He's extremely frustrated and just wants to settle into his permanent home. I want to create a proper home environment for him.'
Katie recently spent two weeks with Harvey at her UK residence after returning from Dubai, where her husband Lee Andrews remains. Despite her determination to help, she emphasized she won't administer injections herself, stating 'that's not medically appropriate' while insisting 'something needs to be done urgently.'
