The 66-year-old broadcaster was rushed to hospital in April following a medical emergency and has been absent from his breakfast show since. In his absence, Alexander Armstrong has been co-hosting with Ellie Costello.
Sharing a selfie with his girlfriend Katie Alexander, Holmes told The Sun: 'I can't wait to be out of this gown and back in a suit and tie. Watch this space. I'll be back after this break.' The Irish-born star has faced a series of health issues in recent years, including a double hip replacement in 2016, shingles in 2018, and back surgery in 2022.
Holmes has also been dealing with a high-profile divorce from Ruth Langsford. The couple, who separated two years ago, are heading to court over a financial settlement. Court documents list Ruth as the applicant and Eamonn as the respondent, with a pre-trial review scheduled for later this year and a trial set for November.
Despite his health struggles, Holmes remains optimistic about his future on screen. 'I can't wait to be out of this gown and back in a suit and tie,' he reiterated, signalling his determination to resume his presenting duties.
