Danniella Westbrook to Undergo Rib-to-Cheek Surgery in Dubai

Former EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook has revealed she is set to undergo surgery to have part of her rib placed in her cheek, as part of ongoing facial reconstruction. The 48-year-old actress shared the news while showcasing results from a year of treatments including filler and Botox.

Westbrook, who has been open about her past struggles with cocaine use, explained that the procedure is necessary due to damage from botched dental work. She previously underwent a similar rib operation in 2018 after osteoporosis caused her cheekbones to deteriorate.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Westbrook said: 'I'm going through a lot of operations at the moment. They're good but they're very hard.' She added that while the first two surgeries have not taken a toll, the upcoming ones will be more challenging.

The actress has spent the last year receiving lip filler and Botox alongside surgical procedures to restore her face. She expressed optimism about her transformation, stating on Instagram: 'Can’t wait for all my surgery to be done … will be back to my best and fighting fit.'

Westbrook previously discussed the procedure on Good Morning Britain, attributing the bone loss to osteoporosis rather than cocaine use. She noted that screws left in after dental implants led to blood entering the bone, causing it to die and resulting in septicaemia.
