Coleen Nolan Sheds Weight After Adopting Vegan Diet Inspired by Sisters' Cancer Battles

Coleen Nolan has revealed she has lost weight since adopting a vegan diet, saying she feels the best she has felt 'in years'. The Loose Women panellist, 56, made the change due to her sisters Linda and Anne's cancer diagnoses.

Appearing on Tuesday's Loose Women, Coleen explained: 'Never weighed myself. The weight comes off. What I'm bothered about is I feel so much better. The main reason for doing it is my sisters' cancer diagnosis and family members have diabetes.'

Fellow panellist Janet Street-Porter questioned whether the diet could prevent cancer, to which Coleen replied: 'Here's the thing - some of it I don't like. I love my dairy and chocolate, but I've really got used to it and trained my taste buds.'

Coleen admitted she relies on her daughter Ciara for cooking, and found catering at her hotel easy during her stay. Her sisters Linda, 62, who has incurable secondary cancer, and Anne, 70, who completed breast cancer treatment in November, have spoken about living in fear of the disease.

In a fan Q&A with The Mirror, Anne said: 'You do live with it for a few years - if you feel ill or anything at all you think, oh gosh, it's the cancer coming back.' Linda agreed, saying: 'What I mean is that it's inside your head all the time.'
