Charlotte Dawson's two-year-old son Jude was rushed to hospital this week after struggling to breathe. The reality star, 33, called an ambulance after the toddler began 'coughing his guts up' and was taken to A&E with blue lights.
Jude was placed on oxygen but fortunately 'turned himself around' by morning. Dawson shared on social media: 'Thank god this little angel turned himself around this morning. He couldn't even breathe last night.' The toddler is now on inhalers every two hours.
Dawson, daughter of late comedian Les Dawson, explained that Jude's oxygen levels kept dropping and he was 'so grey and so white'. She said: 'He was going, 'mummy, mummy, I can't breathe. I can't lie down. My chest hurts'.'
This is Jude's second hospitalisation in three weeks due to RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus), a common respiratory illness that can cause serious complications in young children. Dawson said: 'We literally can't catch a break with this RSV with Jude. It's just always going to be a weak spot for him.'
RSV infects around 90 per cent of children in their first few years, typically causing mild symptoms but sometimes leading to bronchiolitis or pneumonia. Jude is now recovering at home.
