Beverley Callard reveals breast cancer has spread to lymph nodes

Beverley Callard has shared a “worrying” update after surgery for breast cancer, revealing the disease has spread to her lymph nodes. The 69-year-old I’m A Celebrity star, diagnosed in February, had multiple lymph nodes removed as a precaution during surgery two weeks later.

In an Instagram video on Thursday, Callard said the cancer was successfully removed but had spread. She explained that doctors removed three lymph nodes, and cancer was found in the first but not the second or third. The affected node will be sent to the US to determine how aggressive the disease is.

Callard said: “If it's aggressive, then I will have to undergo chemo first and then, after that, radiotherapy. If it's not aggressive, I will have the radiotherapy as was planned.” She admitted feeling “worried” about the spread but noted the surgeries went well.
