Former Gogglebox star Amy Tapper has spoken candidly about her weight loss journey using Mounjaro, insisting the injection is not a 'miracle solution'. The 26-year-old, who appeared on the show from 2013 to 2018, discussed her experience on The Relaxback UK Show podcast.
Mounjaro, described by the NHS as a weight loss medicine that makes you feel fuller for longer, can be prescribed for weight-related health conditions including type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Amy revealed she will need to continue injecting herself weekly for the rest of her life to maintain her weight loss.
'Yes, the weight has come off a hell of a lot quicker than it usually would, but it's not a quick fix,' she said. 'I'm still going to be injecting myself every week for the rest of my life. I am absolutely over the moon to be saying that, because I know that it's going to keep me exactly where I need to be.'
Amy dismissed the notion that the drug has changed her eating habits, explaining she has always exercised and eaten well. She said the medication has given her a 'peaceful mind' free from constant food-related thoughts, allowing her to enjoy social occasions without obsession.
'I think a lot of people think these habits only begin when you do the injections, whereas for someone like me, who's tried all my life, I've always exercised. I've always eaten well,' she added.
