Sienna Spiro Reveals Pandemic Triggered Lifelong Eating Disorder Struggles
Sienna Spiro: Pandemic Worsened My Eating Disorder

British singer Sienna Spiro has disclosed that the Coronavirus pandemic significantly worsened her lifelong struggle with food and body image. The 20-year-old artist, who rose to fame in 2021 after going viral on TikTok, shared her personal challenges in a candid interview with Rolling Stone UK on Wednesday.

Pandemic Impact on Mental Health

Sienna explained that the lockdowns and social isolation during 2020 exacerbated her existing issues with food. 'I'll be transparent: I really struggled with food and the way I saw myself. I've never felt connected to my body,' she stated. The inability to go outside and socialise with peers prevented her from 'figuring' herself out during a crucial developmental period.

Struggles with Public Image

As her career took off, Sienna found it difficult to establish her personal style. 'When I started doing more performances or doing pictures, I couldn't figure out how I wanted to dress and how I wanted to look,' she recalled. The singer admitted she 'hated the idea of people being able to see me and perceive me,' leading her to wear oversized clothing and avoid self-expression.

Career Milestones

Despite these challenges, Sienna has achieved notable success. Her single 'Die On This Hill' broke into the UK singles top ten in November 2025. Earlier this year, she was nominated for the BRITs Critics' Choice Award, though the prize went to Scottish singer Jacob Alon. Industry observers consider Sienna a rising star to watch in 2026.

She has also been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2026, joining an impressive cohort of young talents across sports, entertainment, and business. The list includes rugby star Ellie Kildunne, footballer Eberechi Eze, actor Owen Cooper (the youngest male Emmy winner at 16), and media personalities Grace Keeling (GK Barry) and Molly-Mae Hague.

Sienna ranks among the youngest breakout stars in the Entertainment category, highlighting her rapid ascent in the music industry despite her personal battles.
