Actor Scott Wolf has formally withdrawn his request for a restraining order against his estranged wife, Kelley Wolf, in a significant development in their ongoing divorce proceedings.
Court Hearing Sees Legal Restrictions Lifted
The Party of Five star, aged 57, made an oral request to drop the legal restrictions during a hearing in Utah on Wednesday, according to court documents obtained by People magazine. The case has now been dropped entirely, and any previously issued protective orders are no longer valid.
The couple, who married in May 2004 and share three children – Jackson, 16, Miller, 13, and Lucy, 11 – have been navigating a public and complex separation. Scott Wolf, who is originally from Boston, initially filed for divorce on June 9. Later that same month, he sought a restraining order against Kelley, now 49.
A Turbulent Year and Focus on Mental Health
The legal reversal comes after Kelley was transferred to a new facility on October 14, her birthday, to, as reports indicate, fine-tune her mental health. On that same day, Scott posted a nostalgic photo of the pair on social media with the caption, 'Happy birthday to you.'
This follows a series of difficult incidents. Kelley was detained and hospitalised by authorities in Utah on June 13 after an incident during an Instagram Live session. She was later arrested in August on suspicion of harassment via electronic communication.
In a September court hearing, Kelley stated her commitment to improving her mental wellbeing, saying she was 'excited' to enter a treatment programme starting September 12. 'All I wanted to do was leave a marriage,' she said in court documents reviewed by People.
Divorce Announcements and Conflicting Narratives
When Scott filed for divorce, he released a statement calling it 'the most difficult decision of my life.' He emphasised that their children remained their priority and asked for privacy.
Kelley, however, presented a different timeline. The Westminster University graduate and former reality TV star claimed she initiated the separation almost a year prior and had been trying to file for divorce for months. 'I've been grieving this marriage for years,' she stated, adding that she was 'well into the healing.'
Scott Wolf is best known for his role as Bailey Salinger on the hit Fox drama Party of Five from 1994 to 2000. His career also includes roles in series such as Everwood, V, and Nancy Drew.
