Coronation Street: Sam's Devastating Future After Psychosis Breakdown
Sam's Devastating Future After Coronation Street Breakdown

Coronation Street spoilers have unveiled the heartbreaking next chapter for Sam Blakeman following his devastating psychosis breakdown. The teenager, played by Jude Riordan, has been struggling after discovering that Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) was being groomed by his coach and teacher, Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon).

Sam's Deteriorating Mental State

In recent weeks, Sam's mental health has worsened significantly. He has been experiencing hallucinations, believing that Will is following and threatening him. Additionally, Sam has been having visions of his friend Roy Cropper (David Neilson). However, the version of Roy in Sam's mind is not the gentle, kind, and caring man viewers know. Instead, this hallucination has been giving Sam dangerous advice, even suggesting that he should take control and eliminate Will permanently.

The Climax of the Breakdown

In Friday's episode (June 12), the situation escalated dramatically. Sam locked himself in the cafe and hallucinated both the real Roy and the 'fake' Roy. In a fit of confusion and fear, he threw a chair at the real Roy and fled. Later, Carla Connor (Alison King), who has experienced psychosis herself, found Sam and supported him until his father Nick (Ben Price) arrived. Sam broke down in tears in Nick's arms. Despite Nick's promise not to 'lock Sam up,' Sam later woke up in the hospital car park. Leanne (Jane Danson) and Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) were waiting and managed to coax Sam into the hospital, though he remained convinced he was about to be institutionalized.

Next Week's Spoilers

The upcoming episodes promise more emotional turmoil. In Monday's episode (June 15), Sam's breakdown brings fresh heartbreak for Nick, who is shocked as he waits for news about his son. Nick turns on Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and Eva (Catherine Tyldesley), blaming Megan's court case for Sam's problems. Eva assures Ben that they don't need Sam's help with the case and that Will will manage on his own.

Later in the week, Nick is horrified to realize the full extent of Sam's suffering. He lashes out at Ben, accusing him of failing to spot Megan's crimes sooner and thereby causing Sam unnecessary pain. In Friday's episode (June 19), Sam's family rallies around him as he tells Nick that he would like to see Roy.

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
