Former Bond girl Britt Ekland, now 78, has issued a stark warning to Instagram stars about the dangers of cosmetic injections, calling them the 'biggest mistake' of her life. The actress, known for her role in 'The Man with the Golden Gun', has spent 20 years trying to reverse the effects of fillers she had done.
In a recent interview, Ekland revealed she has undergone thousands of injections in an attempt to dissolve the fillers, with some still remaining. 'It ruined my career as well as my life physically,' she said. 'I would say to everyone out there: DO NOT DO IT.'
Ekland also criticised celebrities who have overdone cosmetic procedures, including Donatella Versace, Madonna, and Nicole Kidman. She described Madonna as looking 'like Mr Potato Head' and said Kidman appeared 'consistently perplexed' in a film. However, she praised Helen Mirren for ageing gracefully, though noted Mirren has never confirmed having cosmetic work.
Despite her regrets, Ekland remains opinionated on ageing, advising against going grey and warning against letting men into one's home unless they are paid gardeners. She also shared that her natural hair colour was 'mouse' rather than the iconic blonde she was known for, having highlighted it herself from age 16.
