The family of Rachel Booth, a 38-year-old mother of three whose body was found in a lake at Oakmere, Cheshire, have launched a fundraising appeal to support her husband and young sons. The GoFundMe campaign aims to raise £13,000, with funds placed into a trust for her children, Alfie, Archie, and Ronnie, and a portion donated to an ADHD charity.
Rachel was last seen by relatives in the early hours of Saturday, July 19, in the Barnton area of Northwich. CCTV footage captured her at Sandiway Garage on the A556 at 3.50am, buying milk and wine after a 45-minute run. A 19-year-old employee described her as appearing calm and not disturbed.
Cheshire Police launched an extensive search involving underwater specialists and search dogs. Her body was discovered on Monday, with no suspicious circumstances. A report is being prepared for the coroner. Specialist officers continue to support the family, who have requested privacy.
In a statement, the family described Rachel, known to them as Helena, as a 'guiding light' and 'cherished member of our family'. They thanked the police and local businesses for their support during the search. Locals remembered her as a 'lovely' and 'very active' mother.
The GoFundMe page has raised nearly £8,000 at the time of writing. The family expressed hope that the funds will help give Rachel 'the beautiful farewell she deserves' and secure the future of her three boys.
