Myleene Klass has revealed her fear after discovering multiple painful lumps on her breast. The 48-year-old Loose Women star felt a strange lump while crossing her arms at Wimbledon and immediately sought medical advice.
Discovery at Wimbledon
The former Hear'Say singer shared a topless photo with pen marks indicating where the lumps were examined. In her post, she wrote: "Girls. A massive reminder to check yourselves. I accidentally felt a lump when I was at Wimbledon watching the tennis. I casually folded my arms and there it was."
She continued: "Then a second one. The subsequent days went both quickly and agonisingly slowly. 3 cysts and 3 lymph nodes later, I'm okay, BUT the days of waiting meant I reorganised my life into a new set of priorities and 'what ifs', only to thankfully get the all clear and then experience the weird 'reordering' of going back to 'normal'."
Emotional Impact
Klass, who has openly discussed suffering four miscarriages, added: "I have close friends going through similar experiences [at the moment] and it's sobering, humbling and terrifying. It's the having kids that anyone who experiences anything near this will know to be the first and final concern."
She reflected on the ultrasound: "I haven't seen an ultrasound since my multiple [miscarriages] and that too was pretty sobering."
Call to Action
Urging others to be proactive, she concluded: "All this to say, as a fierce advocate for women's health and not hiding what's uncomfortable, right now, check yourself and go get a second opinion." She also thanked her talent agency for swift action and encouraged those without similar support to use her experience as a prompt to check themselves.
Celebrity friends showed support, including BBC star Lauren Laverne and presenter Kirsty Gallacher, who sent love and gratitude for sharing her story.
