A 35-year-old woman from South Wales says weight-loss jabs not only helped her shed four stone but also curbed her cravings for alcohol and cocaine. Rachel Cooper, a customer service agent, began taking Mounjaro in January after reaching 19 stone, the heaviest she had ever been.
Cooper had struggled with weight since childhood and turned to alcohol and drugs during lockdown, drinking two to three bottles of vodka and using two bags of cocaine at weekends. Her mental health deteriorated to the point where she considered suicide.
After seeing others succeed with Mounjaro, she obtained the drug via Oushk Pharmacy. She first cut out alcohol, then started the injections. The medication unexpectedly reduced her desire for vodka and cocaine, helping her break the addiction cycle.
Cooper now runs a support group called Cooper’s Troopers and has gained 37,800 followers on TikTok, where she shares her recovery journey. She says the jabs have given her a new lease on life, allowing her to regain control over her eating and substance use.
