The 22-year-old wide receiver's attorney, Joe Long, stated that his client was experiencing an acute mental health crisis during the August 23rd incident in Lafayette. "This was a young man in the midst of a mental health emergency, not a criminal situation," Long emphasised.

Body camera footage obtained by DailyMail.com shows the alarming moment when officers discovered Lacy's vehicle heavily damaged against a tree. The LSU athlete can be heard making concerning statements about self-harm during the interaction with responding officers.
Police reports indicate the crash occurred around 2:30 AM local time, with Lacy's vehicle striking multiple trees before coming to rest. Emergency services transported the athlete to a local medical facility for evaluation following the incident.
