Kerry Katona has reunited with her ex-husband Brian McFadden just days after opening up about their devastating marriage split. The former Atomic Kitten singer, 44, posed for a sweet snap with former Westlife singer Brian, 45, as the former couple celebrated their eldest daughter Molly's 24th birthday.
Kerry, who is currently starring on Celebs Go Dating following her break-up from fiancé Ryan Mahoney, posted a wholesome photo of herself and Brian celebrating lookalike daughter Molly on her special day. The proud mum-of-five looked better than ever as she donned an oversized green pleated blouse and a huge smile, while Molly looked fabulous in a white dress with a black bralette underneath. Brian also looked sharp in a navy blazer as he cuddled into his eldest child in the sweet family snap.
Body language expert Judi James has now revealed that Kerry's reunion with Brian was an 'act of emotional maturity'. She explained: 'It's an act of emotional maturity that can be challenging for any exes when they put any grievances, resentments and differences to one side to show up for their kids, but the result can often be the kind of forced-looking, effortful smiling that we can see here as Kerry and Brian 'bookend' daughter Molly.'
James added: 'It's Molly sporting the more natural-looking smile here, with her lips closed and her cheeks rounded and raised. Brian and Kerry wear a matching mouth shape that suggests someone has said 'cheese' and the result suggests they're not totally relaxed here. However, their matching smiles and body poses do suggest a like-minded objective and a strong desire to make their daughter happy.'
Alongside the mother-father-daughter snap, Kerry also shared a number of photographs from Molly's childhood and teenage years. In the caption, Kerry gushed about how much she missed Molly, who recently moved to Dublin, Ireland, to be closer to her grandparents and to further her studies. Kerry penned: 'How on earth is my first born 24 today!!!!! Happy birthday my beautiful baby girl Molly. I honestly cannot express how proud I am of the woman you've turned out to be…. I love you all the world my baby girl and I miss you like crazy.'
The reunion comes after Kerry shared more details about Brian's infidelity before the former couple tied the knot in 2002. Kerry split from Brian in 2004 after five years together, during which they wed in an Irish ceremony. Opening up about her first marriage split with Brian due to his infidelity, Kerry said that she was left blind-sided by his actions because she felt so in love with him. Lifting the lid on their relationship, Kerry told host Paul C Brunson on his We Need To Talk Podcast: 'He doesn't like me talking about him, but Brian's a part of my story, only a small part. There's been so much more than Brian.'
