Kelsey Parker has spoken about the police apology she received following the stillbirth of her son Phoenix last year. The 35-year-old reflected on the PTSD she has experienced since the traumatic birth.
Traumatic home birth
Kelsey went into a quick labour at home unexpectedly at 39 weeks, leaving no time for a midwife to arrive before the baby was born. Tragically, her son was born sleeping, and when the paramedics arrived, they called the police due to no medical professional being present when she gave birth.
Opening up about feeling like a 'criminal' at the time, she told Good Morning Britain presenters Ed Balls and Susanna Reid that she has since received an apology.
Introducing baby River
Kelsey was on the programme to introduce her baby daughter River, who she announced had been born on social media on September 20. When Susanna observed that Kelsey had been through a lot, with the death of Phoenix last year and her husband Tom in 2022, the 35-year-old confessed it has been a 'tough' few years for her family.
The ITV star was questioned about how the traumatic birth of Phoenix impacted her during the build-up to River's birth, as Kelsey confessed it was 'so tough'.
'Really bad PTSD'
Sharing that she has 'really bad PTSD' from her last birth experience, she told Susanna she knew with River 'everything was going to be ok' as they could not possibly go through that again.
She revealed to Susanna how her two other children are 'over the moon' with their new baby sister, whose father is her partner Will Lindsay, as she added they have 'gone through so much'. Kelsey shared the news of River's birth online with a sweet snap of her arm next to a plaque with her name, and it was not long before people commented on the joyful news.
One person said: "Congratulations to you and your beautiful family. So happy for you all." Someone else wrote: "Congratulations Kelsey, been thinking of you all! So glad she's here." Another person commented: "Congratulations Kels!! What a gorgeous name! Sending so so much love to you all!" As one fan added: "Awww Huge Congratulations To You All!!! Welcome to the World River!!!"
