Katie Price has shared a heartfelt update about her son, Harvey, following recent concerns about his health. Earlier this month, reports emerged that Harvey's weight had sadly almost reached 30 stone. Harvey, who is due to move into a new home near Katie, has been diagnosed with several health conditions, including Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic disorder that causes insatiable hunger and a slow metabolism.
The former glamour model explained on The Katie Price Show podcast that Harvey would be on the "verge of a heart attack" if he continued to gain weight, describing it as a "massive worry for me at the moment." It appears the mum-of-five has been struggling and "in need of a break," as she recently jetted off to Dubai to spend time with her husband, businessman Lee Andrews.
Katie's Break and Harvey's Care
Prior to this, Katie spent four weeks taking care of Harvey, whose father is football coach and former pro footballer Dwight Yorke. Speaking in the latest episode of her podcast (April 30), Katie shared an update from Dubai about a recent visit to see her mum on the Isle of Wight, and how a day out with Harvey can be "full on."
Katie said: "Aw, my God. I've had a week, right, off. So I've obviously had Harvey, and I need a break. So I've had him four weeks and now I've flown out to see hubby. And I haven't seen him for four weeks, so that's good. So, I done lots of things with Harv, but this week, I took Harvey back just for three days, just so I could go to the Isle of Wight on my own to see Mum."
She continued: "Cos, obviously, you had a day out with me with Harv, and it's constant. I took him to TK Maxx. I just can't. He's just full on, isn't he? 'How long? How long? How...' So I thought, 'Look, Mum's come out of hospital. I'm gonna go and see her, so she's got my undivided attention.'"
Harvey's Discontent with Current Accommodation
Harvey, who lives in supported accommodation, "hates where he is," according to Katie. Speaking previously, she detailed how her son "didn't want to go back" after a two-week visit with her. She told the podcast in March: "I got Harvey the day I landed and had him for two weeks. He went back today with a big struggle because he didn't want to go back."
Katie went on to explain how Harvey "didn't want to get out of the car," saying: "I've got three wet mattresses, a smashed window glass because Ben took him out and Harv didn't want to get out of the car. [He] found one of my perfume bottles in the car and decided to smash the windowscreen with it."
In further comments, she said: "I'm missing him tonight, but I'm not because I'm having a nice bath after this. It's an absolute joke, he hates where he is, he wants to be in Littlehampton. The guy's on holiday, when he gets back he's giving me an update. Harvey is so frustrated, he just wants to be here."
Plans for Harvey's Health
In January, Katie revealed plans to get Harvey on Mounjaro and join a gym, appearing in a video discussing an aim to get him "very, very healthy." Her remarks came in a YouTube video on her channel. In the clip, Katie is seen having a chat with her son about his weight. As she sat on his bed, Katie commented: "What we're gonna do this year is get very, very healthy so you can get on those rollercoasters for your birthday."
In response, Harvey asked to go on the Grand National rollercoaster in Blackpool. She added: "Oh you wanna go on that one? That's easier than America to get to. Well we can do that." Katie and her son later made a pinky promise, and she urged him: "Healthy eating." She went on to remark that he says this "every year."
Katie pointed out how he would remain "just under 30 stone," but said it was okay, as they'd aim to "get it down a little bit." She added: "You say this every year. And you're still just under 30 stone. But that's alright, we'll get it down a little bit, all for them rides." In response, Harvey said: "Oh yes" and gave the camera a thumbs up.
