Jude Riordan Supported Over Tough Coronation Street Sam Twist

Coronation Street fans have been left heartbroken for Sam Blakeman, played by Jude Riordan, as he endures a devastating storyline. Recently, Sam experienced a severe psychosis episode on Friday, leading to his hospitalization after he began hallucinating a different version of Roy Cropper and developed intense paranoia.

Sam's Mental Health Struggle

Sam has been grappling with his mental health after discovering that teacher Megan Walsh had been grooming and engaging in an inappropriate relationship with his school friend Will Driscoll. The pair gaslit Sam and made his life unbearable when he threatened to expose their sickening affair. The situation escalated on Friday's episode, where Sam saw two versions of Roy, attacked the cafe owner, and fled before being found by a concerned Carla Connor, who immediately recognized his signs of psychosis.

Jude Riordan's Instagram Post

Following the hard-hitting scenes, Sam actor Jude, 15, took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look. He wrote: "It's been a huge privilege to take on a very tough storyline and to be trusted to do it well. Thank you for all the messages throughout this story so far. It's not over yet .... BIG shout to my Corrie family, especially Ben, Jane, Claire and David who have helped and supported me lots. The best crew as always. Great writers. It's been really important to show that young people can be in mental health crisis and it's a reality for lots. #BTS #filming #corrie #coronationstreet #mentalhealth"
