Jeremy Clarkson opened up about his cancer diagnosis in the final episodes of Clarkson's Farm season five, revealing a devastating health battle.
The Emotional Revelation
In the concluding instalments of series five, the former Top Gear presenter shared heartbreaking news. After discussing his cardiac emergency in the season opener, Clarkson disclosed further distressing news in episode seven.
He summoned land agent Charlie Ireland and farm manager Kaleb Cooper for a discussion, struggling to contain his emotions as he declared: "I've got cancer."
"I've known since May," he informed Kaleb, who appeared stunned and wiped away tears. "I had a medical, you know, back in May. I disappeared off the other week and I had a biopsy done and it is cancer, and it's aggressive, but it's really early."
Support from the Team
Clarkson expressed hope that he could receive treatment after the harvest, but Kaleb encouraged him to "look after himself" and trust the farm to others. Charlie responded: "I just wish you a very, very speedy recovery," with Clarkson assuring him: "I promise I'll be fine."
Cancer Location and Treatment
After the harvest, Clarkson revealed the cancer was in his prostate and that he had undergone a procedure to remove part of it. He stated: "The prostate, 10 per cent of it's dead. The 10 per cent where the cancer is."
Later, from a hospital bed, he disclosed that certain aspects of the treatment had "gone awry". "I'm going to be here for a little while," he revealed. "I don't know what's going to happen. What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I'll see you in season six, and if it isn't, I won't. Take care, everyone."
Warning to Fans
Before the final episodes aired, Clarkson warned audiences on Instagram that they would be "really, really difficult" to watch. He said: "Ordinarily we try to keep the show charming and cheerful, but the final two episodes which drop in the middle of the night tonight are none of those things really. They are a difficult watch, they are really, really difficult."
Since the episodes' release, Clarkson has not provided additional health updates.
