Former Premier League footballer and talkSPORT host Jamie O'Hara has been hospitalised during a holiday in Portugal after suffering a severe bout of food poisoning. The 39-year-old, who was enjoying a break in Albufeira, was forced to seek medical attention and check himself into a local hospital.
Cheese on Toast Blamed
Sharing his ordeal on social media, O'Hara revealed that a serving of cheese on toast was the culprit. He posted a photo of himself on a drip in hospital with the caption: “Got food poisoning from cheese on toast in albufeira absolute stinker”.
Issuing an update later, he added: “Man down in albufeira only got food poisoning from cheese on toast”.

Fans were quick to send their support, with @danski_1979 writing on X: “J, I wish you a speedy recovery from Weymouth.” @SmartTaxi2022 added: “Shambles mate. Get better soon matey.” @wethem1zyeet commented: “Goooood meal, get well soon but SPURS are actually back.”

Alan Brazil's Return
Meanwhile, at talkSPORT, Alan Brazil made a heroic return to the airwaves after his own health scare. The 67-year-old had been absent for over four months following a medical emergency earlier this year. He returned to his usual Breakfast show slot alongside ex-Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor.
Recalling his ordeal, Brazil said: “Went to the hospital and a few hours later, wallop, they open me up and stick a new liver in there. I had cancer on my liver and we suspected that for months but they didn’t want to touch it and shake it up in case it spread. But the perfect match came in straight away and if it hadn’t, I might still have been waiting. I was so lucky.”
He added: “They inject you all over and you have to sign a few forms, you get carried in there and it’s like ‘goodbye everyone’, that’s how bad it was. I thought ‘see you later’. My wife was in tears. It was horrible. I didn’t realise it was that extreme but it was. They told me ‘Another couple of weeks and you were gone’.”
