Donald Glover Reveals Stroke and Heart Condition

Donald Glover, known as Childish Gambino, has disclosed that he suffered a stroke last year, leading to the cancellation of his world tour. The 42-year-old musician and actor made the revelation during a performance at Tyler, the Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Glover explained that he experienced severe head pain in Louisiana but continued with the show despite vision problems. After travelling to Houston, doctors informed him he had had a stroke. He also revealed that he had broken his foot, and subsequent medical checks uncovered a hole in his heart, requiring two surgeries.

At the time of the cancellations, Glover cited an unspecified 'ailment' and said his recovery was taking longer than expected. He has since retired the Childish Gambino persona following the release of his final album, Bando Stone & the New World.

Addressing the audience, Glover joked about following in the footsteps of Jamie Foxx, who had a stroke in 2023, but admitted his first concern was letting fans down. He described his career as a blessing and urged fans to cherish their lives.
