Danielle Lloyd's son Ronnie, 8, rushed to hospital

Danielle Lloyd has confirmed her eight-year-old son Ronnie was treated by doctors after spending the night in accident and emergency. The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, 42, endured a sleepless night on Saturday after Ronnie was rushed to hospital with an undisclosed illness.

Instagram update on Ronnie's recovery

Taking to Instagram, the mother of five shared a photo of bed-bound Ronnie as he slept on a ward. She wrote: "Well that was a heavy night! Thanks for all your messages, Ronnie is out and feeling a lot better."

She is yet to reveal what prompted the decision to seek hospital treatment. Returning to social media with Autumn and another young family member on Sunday, she added: "Tired but… love my kids & Nephew."

Family background and previous health battles

Danielle shares children Archie, George, and Harry with football pundit ex-husband Jamie O'Hara, while raising son Ronnie and daughter Autumn Rose with her second husband, electrician Michael O'Neill.

In December, the reality star confirmed her family was "complete" after previously sharing plans to adopt. The TV personality said she had thought about adopting another child after doctors advised her to have a hysterectomy following a recent cancer scare. She believed she was having a miscarriage after suffering an unexpected bleed, but after an examination doctors found cysts on her ovaries, one of which was the size of a tennis ball. Already battling endometriosis and adenomyosis, she underwent an operation to remove the cyst and as a result can no longer carry any children.

Discussing her diagnosis with The Sun, Danielle previously said: "Being a mum, I was trying to put a brave face on for everyone, but inside I've been crumbling. I was worried every single day that I was going to die."

Skin cancer diagnosis and awareness campaign

Last February, the former beauty pageant queen revealed she had been diagnosed with skin cancer and required an operation. In an emotional video shared on Instagram, she said: "I don't really know how to say this and I didn't know whether to come on and say it but I feel like I have to raise awareness of this happening to other people. Today I have been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer. I just want to raise awareness for anyone who might think they've got something funny on their bod, they see a mole that's growing that's not normal - please please please go to your doctor. You just never know."

The TV personality said a cancerous growth the size of a five pence piece had been discovered on her collarbone - the result of sun damage caused by her failure to wear adequate protective lotion. Urging followers to be mindful of exposure to the sun, she added: "I used to be a total sun worshiper, never really thinking about the risk of skin cancer. Sunbeds before holidays? Absolutely! But now, I've decided it's better to fake the glow because my health and being there for my kids are what truly matter."
