Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan has shared a worrying health update, revealing she has been diagnosed with pre-melanoma. The 58-year-old singer and television personality discovered a small patch of dry skin that would not clear, despite using oils and creams.
After seeking medical advice, doctors told her the patch was pre-melanoma, a condition that could develop into a more serious form of skin cancer. Nolan had previously undergone treatment for carcinoma on her shoulder last year.
Speaking on Scott Thomas's podcast Learning As I Go, Nolan said: 'I got skin cancer last year. I had carcinoma on my shoulder which has now gone. And then I've got this tiny bit of dry skin. Doctors said, that is pre-melanoma, it will turn into skin cancer which is worse than carcinoma.'
Nolan, who is currently on a solo tour, said she will begin treatment once the tour ends. She acknowledged the seriousness of the diagnosis, noting that her family has a history of cancer: older sister Anne has twice battled breast cancer, Linda has breast cancer that spread to her liver and brain, and sister Bernie died of breast cancer in 2013 at age 52.
'When I said to Linda, do you ever think why me? She always says, no, I always think why not me?' Nolan added. 'My sister has cancer in her brain so me coming home saying I've got pre-melanoma seems dramatic and pathetic but it's not, it's really serious.'
