Biohacker Bryan Johnson has revealed his latest health experiment: a "techno-tampon" that monitors his wife Kate's arousal levels, which he calls "lady boners." The 49-year-old former venture capitalist says the device is part of a regimen that makes Kate "the world's most measured woman."
29 Health Aspects Tracked
Johnson, whose stated mission is to reverse the aging process, says the latest series of tests records at least 29 different aspects of Kate's health over her menstrual cycle. He described it as "the most measured menstrual cycle in history."
Taking to X, Johnson wrote: "Kate’s period will start any minute now…. I’ve been waiting for 34 days. This is historic; the most measured menstrual cycle in history."
Procedures and Data Collection
The list of procedures includes "vaginal," "oral," and "stool microbiome" recordings, as well as "breast measurement," "urine concentration," and "weighing menstrual blood." Johnson also said the "techno-tampon" would help collect "14 million data points on her menstrual cycle," with the process "monitored by a 12 person medical team."
In a post on Substack, Johnson explained the device's purpose, though he did not detail how it measures arousal.
Mixed Online Reactions
Some social media users praised the couple for focusing on reproductive health, which they noted has been historically underfunded. One user wrote: "You are doing God's work. Women's reproductive health is severely understudied," while another added, "It’s almost unbelievable to me how something so deeply interesting has not been undertaken before. Good work!"
Others expressed confusion about the technology. One account asked, "I'm all for micro studying women's health, which is long past due. But, techno tampons for lady what now?"
