Alison Hammond health update after hospital dash

Alison Hammond has reassured fans after she was rushed to hospital during Friday's live broadcast of This Morning, confirming she is now home and feeling much better.

The TV presenter left the show about an hour into the broadcast after feeling unwell. Co-host Dermot O'Leary explained her absence to viewers, saying she had to "duck out" and hoped she would be back.

Hospital check-up after palpitation

In a video shared on Instagram on Friday evening, Hammond said she was having her heart checked after experiencing "a little bit of a palpitation." She thanked fans for their messages and said she hoped it was just a panic attack.

Hammond said: "Hello my lovelies, I know you're all worried about me. Honestly, I am fine first of all but I'm getting my old ticker checked out."

She continued: "I had a little bit of a palpitation and now I'm getting it all checked out but I think I'm okay. I'm hoping it's just a little panic attack or something like that."

Panic attack confirmed

In a second update on Saturday, Hammond revealed she had experienced a panic attack. She said: "I'm home. I'm safe and I'm feeling so much better."

She added: "I'm all okay. It's all clear, which would mean I had a massive panic attack on live TV. The shame of it."

Hammond thanked the NHS care team and said she was new to panic attacks and needed to learn more about them. She said she planned to "take stock, get some rest" and would see fans soon.
