Strictly Come Dancing star Tom Skinner has revealed his twin daughters may face a life-changing diagnosis after suffering seizures. The 34-year-old, who was the first contestant eliminated from the 2025 series, shared that his two-year-old girls Roma and Darla were rushed to hospital this week after each had two fits.
Skinner, who appeared on the BBC show with professional dancer Amy Dowden, said the twins had febrile convulsions brought on by a sudden rise in temperature while unwell with a cold. He explained that because the girls were born prematurely weighing just 3lbs each, they are more susceptible to such seizures.
Doctors have tested the twins for epilepsy, and the family is awaiting results. Skinner told The Sun: 'It can be linked to epilepsy so doctors have tested them and we're waiting for the results, but we're hopeful that's not the case.' He added that the ordeal was 'incredibly scary' but the girls are now back home and 'happy and playing'.
The NHS states that febrile seizures can occur when a child has a high temperature and are 'not usually serious', but advises seeking medical help. Skinner praised the NHS for their care, posting on X: 'Thank you to the wonderful NHS for looking after them.'
The health scare comes as Skinner adjusts to life after Strictly, having been eliminated in the first week. He said he was 'gutted' but called the experience 'amazing' and praised his dance partner Amy Dowden as 'an inspirational woman and a proper diamond'.
