Sophie Habboo has shared the first photos of her baby bump, hours after revealing she is expecting her first child with husband Jamie Laing. The former Made in Chelsea star, 30, attended a close friend’s wedding over the weekend and posted a series of images to Instagram on Wednesday, offering fans a first glimpse of her growing bump.
Wearing a green halter-neck maxi dress with a cowl back, Habboo posed for a mirror selfie before being joined by Laing, 36, for a couple photo. Jamie looked sharp in a classic black three-piece suit, while other photos captured the couple celebrating with friends at the wedding reception. “Last weekend I celebrated one of my friends of 24 years getting married and it was everything and more,” she wrote in the caption.
The post comes just a day after the couple announced they are expecting. The pair posted an emotional video of their ultrasound scan, which saw Habboo lying on a hospital bed, smiling at Laing, who asks, “How are you feeling?” before exclaiming, “Oh my god.” As they watch the scan, an emotional Jamie is heard saying, “Are you kidding me?” while the camera focuses on Habboo, who is left in awe, her jaw dropped as she watches the screen and hears the heartbeat.
During their BBC Radio 1 show on Tuesday, Habboo confirmed she is four months pregnant. Laing recalled the moment he found out the news: “We found out about four months ago. I was gaming on the weekend, sat on the sofa in my boxers. I could tell something was off, and then you came over to me crying and I thought I had done something wrong!” Sophie then told him she was pregnant. “It was surreal and a big moment,” he added.
Outside of radio, the couple co-host the popular podcast NewlyWeds, which they recently announced is “pressing pause” for now. The couple married last year in a civil ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall, followed by a larger celebration in Marbella. Their announcement has been met with warm wishes from fans and friends alike, as they prepare for the next chapter.
