Scarlett Moffatt's Brave Outing After Revealing Heartbreaking Miscarriage
Scarlett Moffatt seen after miscarriage revelation

Scarlett Moffatt has been seen in public for the first time since sharing the heartbreaking news that she suffered a miscarriage. The 35-year-old television personality was spotted heading to a performance on Tuesday, putting on a brave face just days after her emotional revelation.

A Courageous Appearance After Personal Heartbreak

The former Gogglebox star was photographed outside the Northwich Memorial Court in Cheshire, where she is currently performing in the Christmas pantomime Aladdin. Moffatt, who plays the Spirit of the Ring, wrapped up against the cold in a black leather jacket and managed a small smile for waiting cameras.

Her public appearance comes shortly after she told The Sun that she and her partner, Scott Dobinson, would not be trying for more children following the loss of a pregnancy last year. The miscarriage occurred after the birth of their son, Jude, who is now two years old.

Mourning a Future That Never Was

In her candid interview, Scarlett described the profound grief that followed the loss. "We had told people [about the pregnancy] and we were really excited," she explained. "We had talked about what life would be like, how they would run down the stairs together as siblings at Christmas, so you mourn the loss of that and the life you imagined."

The decision to stop trying for another child was a difficult one. Moffatt recalled a conversation with Scott, saying: "I was lying in bed with Scott one day, and I said: 'I just don't think I can handle the heartbreak any more. I think we should stop. We've got Jude, so let's enjoy him'." She expressed deep sympathy for others who endure similar pain, calling it "soul-destroying".

A Traumatic First Birth and Family Life

Scarlett also revisited the challenging birth of her son Jude in 2023, which involved significant complications. She experienced a major blood loss of approximately one and a half litres during labour, requiring a transfusion she had hoped to avoid.

Jude was born prematurely at 35 weeks and five days, leading to immediate health concerns. "He had low blood sugars, he had jaundice," Scarlett shared, detailing a visit to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She has since become a vocal supporter of NICU services, recently partnering with WaterWipes to promote their Pure Foundation Fund, which recognises staff who support premature babies.

On the home front, the family has adapted their roles to manage work and childcare. After Scarlett took two years off, her fiancé Scott, a former policeman, has now taken a two-year career break to become a full-time dad. The couple, who got engaged in 2023, are planning their wedding for next year.

Scarlett Moffatt's performance in Aladdin at the Brio Northwich Memorial Court continues until December 31.
