Sue Radford, 45, from Morecambe, Lancashire, has 22 children with husband Noel, 50, making them Britain's largest family. Despite originally only wanting three children, Sue says she loves what each child has brought into their lives and has no plans to stop, although she has ruled out having more.
The family includes 19 children living at home, two who have moved out, and their stillborn son Alfie, who died in 2014. Sue says Alfie is still considered part of the family, and they keep his memory alive by talking about him and placing flowers on his grave.
Sue and Noel run a successful pie business, which allowed them to buy a 10-bedroom house about 16 years ago. Sue says they decided to fill all the bedrooms, and some children share rooms. The family spends £450 a week on food during lockdown, using 24 toilet rolls, 16 pints of milk, and four loaves of bread per day.
Despite occasional criticism on social media, Sue says they receive positive reactions in public and that their home is full of love and laughter. She insists she has no favourites and that the children are well-behaved and rarely argue. Lockdown has been manageable due to the large family, though homeschooling was challenging.
