Sue Radford, the mother of Britain's largest family, has surprised her 22 children with a Bank Holiday weekend trip to Center Parcs. The 46-year-old and her husband Noel, 50, kept the getaway a secret, with Sue frantically packing and preparing without the children's knowledge.
In a video shared on their YouTube channel, Sue gathered the family in the living room and announced, “Guess where we are going this weekend? Holiday!” The news was met with squeals of delight as the children cheered and danced around the room. The family soon arrived at the resort, where they were seen riding scooters and exploring the grounds.
Baby Heidie, who recently took her first steps, was spotted toddling around the cabin. Noel remarked, “Kids have enjoyed playing out, they’ve been playing out until about 9pm tonight and worn themselves out. Finally gone to sleep so hopefully we might get a lie in in the morning.” He added that they planned to hire bikes for the day.
The trip comes as the Radfords prepare to welcome another grandchild. Their eldest son Chris, 31, announced on Instagram that his partner is expecting their third child, a boy. This will be Sue and Noel's seventh grandchild. Chris already has two children: Maisie, three, and Jacob, one.
The Radfords, who run Noel's pie shop in Morecambe, Lancashire, have adapted their business during the pandemic, moving online after a suggestion from their daughter Chloe. Sales have since doubled. The couple recently featured in the Channel 5 programme 22 Kids & Counting, revealing they have spent £1 million raising their children and that Sue has been pregnant for 16 and a half years.
