Love Island star Anna Vakili has revealed she suffered a miscarriage just days after discovering she was pregnant. The 35-year-old TV personality and pharmacist, who rose to fame on Season 5 of the ITV2 dating show in 2019, shared the heartbreaking news on her podcast Sisters in the City, which she hosts with her sister Mandi.
Anna said she woke up in the early hours of the morning during a getaway to the Cotswolds with her boyfriend, Cowslick, and discovered she was bleeding. After Googling her symptoms, she initially hoped it might be implantation bleeding, but later realised it was a miscarriage when she woke to more blood. She described having 'two big shocks' in one week: first learning she was pregnant, then experiencing the loss.
Getting emotional on the podcast, Anna said she was 'crying and screaming' at the hotel, and that both she and Cowslick were 'really upset'. The couple reunited in July last year after splitting a few months earlier. Anna had previously shared with fans that she had been freezing her eggs, expressing regret she hadn't done so sooner.
Anna, who was on the same Love Island season as Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, also spoke about financial struggles after the show, revealing she had spent all the money she made and was forced to move out of her flat. She said she is now being smarter with her finances.
