Stranger Things fans have a new reason to celebrate as two stars from the hit series are reuniting for a Netflix detective drama. Maya Hawke, who played Robin Buckley, and Nell Fisher, who portrayed Holly Wheeler in the final season, will star in The God of the Woods, an adaptation of Liz Moore's best-selling novel.
In the upcoming series, Hawke takes on the role of investigator Judy Luptack, while Fisher plays 13-year-old Barbara Van Laar, a girl who goes missing from her family's summer camp. The story is set in the Adirondacks and explores the dark secrets of the Van Laar family, class tensions, and the aftermath of an earlier family tragedy.
The cast also includes Damon Gupton (Bates Motel), Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), and Benjamin Walker (The Rings of Power). Author Liz Moore will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, alongside Mindhunter writer and producer Liz Hannah.
The official synopsis describes the series as a multigenerational drama that delves into the damaging consequences of privilege and the abuse of power. As the past and present collide, the Van Laars' wealth and influence begin to unravel.
This reunion follows other collaborations among Stranger Things cast members, such as Caleb McLaughlin and David Harbour voicing characters in the animated film Goat.
