Lucy Letby's Appeal Refused: What Next for Convicted Nurse?
Lucy Letby's Appeal Refused: What Next for Convicted Nurse?

Lucy Letby, the former nurse convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill six others at the Countess of Chester Hospital, is serving 14 whole-life sentences. She will never be released from prison.

In April, she sought permission to appeal against her convictions at the Court of Appeal in London. Her challenge was refused in May, with the court publishing its judgment explaining the decision on Tuesday.

With her appeal rejected, Letby now has few legal options remaining. The judgment provides the reasoning behind the refusal, but further steps remain unclear.
