Two men have sustained potentially life-threatening injuries after scaffolding collapsed at Hammersmith town hall in west London. The incident occurred just before 5:45pm on Wednesday on King Street.
Emergency services, including police, fire crews, and multiple ambulances, attended the scene. London's Air Ambulance was also dispatched. The two men were taken to a major trauma centre as a priority, according to a London Ambulance Service spokesperson.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the men were hospitalised and that the Health and Safety Executive has been informed. A full investigation into the collapse has been launched.
Hammersmith and Fulham Council stated that the construction site was operated by Ardmore Construction Ltd. King Street was temporarily closed between Dalling Road and Hammersmith Broadway while emergency services dealt with the incident.
