A five-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after falling from a height near Dagenham Heathway Tube station in east London. Emergency services were called to Church Elm Lane at 2:32pm on Monday, 4 August, following reports of the incident.
Police closed off Church Elm Lane between the health centre and the Tasty Kebab Shop. An air ambulance was seen at Old Dagenham Park, but the child was taken to a major trauma centre by road. The London Ambulance Service said its first paramedic arrived in less than five minutes.
A Met Police spokesperson said the boy's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. No arrests have been made, and the circumstances surrounding the fall remain unclear. The force stated: 'A five-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life threatening.'
The London Ambulance Service confirmed it sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, a paramedic in a fast response car, and London's Air Ambulance. The child was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital.
Members of the public have taken to social media to wish the boy a speedy recovery. One person wrote: 'Hope he makes a speedy recovery,' while another commented: 'This is so sad.'
