Plastic surgeon Patrick Mallucci starts his day at 6.45am, opens the curtains, and assesses the weather. If it's nice, he makes an espresso and sits on his balcony overlooking the river, watching joggers pass by while gathering his thoughts.
Diet and exercise habits
Mallucci is not much of a breakfast person and prefers two good meals daily: lunch and dinner. He eats healthily, avoids snacks, and ensures a balance between healthy carbohydrates and protein.
Sport and exercise are a large part of his life. He played sport to a high level in the past and still incorporates that into his routine. He has a gym on site where he lives and works with a personal trainer.
Recovery and technology
For recovery, he saunas and swims regularly. He uses a Tens machine for shoulder and back injuries and a muscle gun as well. The only wearable he uses is an Apple watch, but he is not obsessive about data.
Mallucci's Mayfair clinic has a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, which he uses when he has pulled a muscle or tendon to speed up recovery. He says it is undervalued and loves it, noting that you can never get enough oxygen to the tissues.
AI and biohacking
He uses AI for note-keeping, which has made a huge difference in documenting consultations and producing treatment plans. His desktop gadgets are Meta AI glasses with lenses for reading on the computer, linking to phone and Zoom calls and directly to AI.
At the clinic, there is a device called Dermalux, which is UV light therapy. Mallucci says he is often wheeled underneath it by his staff to improve the bio-modulation of his skin.
Work and personal life
Mallucci travels the world lecturing and teaching, keeping up to date with emerging trends and new technology. He exercises in the evening, finding it relaxing after work, and enjoys cooking, particularly pasta and pizza, reflecting his Italian heritage.
He says he does not suffer much from stress or mental fatigue, loves what he does, and tries to lead a healthy lifestyle. He has never seen work and life as a struggle, blending them seamlessly. His assistant once bought him magnesium for sleep, but he has never had trouble falling asleep.
