Amy Tapper Shares Baby Hopes After Eight-Stone Loss

Gogglebox star Amy Tapper has revealed her aspirations to start a family following her remarkable eight-stone weight loss. The 26-year-old, who has been open about her lifelong struggle with dieting, says the transformation has been life-changing.

From Size 26 to Size 18

Amy, who first appeared on Channel 4's Gogglebox alongside her parents Jonathan and Nikki and brother Josh, has dropped five dress sizes, going from a size 26 to a size 18. She admits she has been overweight for as long as she can remember and has constantly battled with her weight.

In 2024, after her doctor recommended weight-loss injections, Amy began the treatment alongside a fitness regimen that includes Pilates and boxing three times a week. She now aims to lose another stone and may consult a surgeon about removing excess skin.

Future-Proofing for Motherhood

Speaking to Closer magazine, Amy shared her motivation: "I'm four years away from 30 now and things only get harder as you get older. I want to be able to carry a baby one day and not worry about having a dangerous pregnancy. It will help future-proof myself."

She had tried numerous diets before, losing two or three stones only to plateau. Believing her issues stemmed from genetics and metabolism, she found success with the injections, losing 4lb in the first week, leaving her and her personal trainer astonished.

Side Effects and Lifestyle Changes

The jabs come with downsides, including "sulphur burps," which Amy admits are "not pleasant." Her appetite has changed significantly; she no longer eats large portions or snacks, opting for boiled eggs or yoghurt when hungry. She expects to remain on the medication for life due to her genetics.

Amy now enjoys shopping in high street stores, a stark contrast to her previous avoidance. She recently wore jeans for the first time since age nine. Her training sessions have become easier, incorporating Pilates twice a week, strength training, and boxing.

A Newfound Freedom

Amy describes her transformation as "very freeing." She no longer worries about fitting on rides at Disneyland, where she plans to go next month, or needing a seatbelt extender on flights. After watching the London Marathon, she noted that previously the walking and packed trains would have been impossible. The star, known for appearances on Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity Coach Trip, feels she can now "do anything."
