Maxi-Cosi Car Seat Recall: Parents Warned of Injury Risk
Maxi-Cosi Car Seat Recall: Injury Risk Warning

A critical product recall has been issued for the Maxi-Cosi Family Fix Slide Pro Base car seat, with consumers urged to immediately stop using the product due to a significant risk of injuries to children. The recall, detailed by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), targets all Family Fix Slide Pro Base seats manufactured in China between 6 September last year and 24 March 2026.

Faulty Safety Indicator

The core issue is a malfunctioning safety indicator that may display green for correct installation even when the car seat is not fully attached to the base, potentially causing it to move or detach. This fault means the product is non-compliant with the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, as users might mistakenly believe the seat is properly connected when it is not.

What Parents Should Do

Maxi-Cosi advises customers to check their product by entering the model reference and manufacturing date, found on a white label on the underside of the base, on their website. If your seat is affected, stop using it immediately and contact Maxi-Cosi for a free repair or replacement.

The recall affects only the base, not the car seat itself. However, parents are urged to verify their product and not rely solely on the indicator light.
