The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued a recall alert for Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix Slide Pro bases, warning that a faulty safety indicator could lead to injuries. The base, used with compatible car seats, may display a green indicator even when the seat is not fully attached, increasing the risk of the seat moving or detaching during use.
Maxi-Cosi has initiated a voluntary recall for all units manufactured in China between 6 September 2025 and 24 March 2026. The product fails to meet the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, according to the OPSS. Users are advised to stop using the base immediately and check if their product is affected via the Maxi-Cosi website using the 10-digit model reference and manufacturing date found on the underside label.
In a statement, Maxi-Cosi said the recall was prompted by a potential misuse scenario identified during user testing. The company emphasised its commitment to child safety and product quality. Sue Davies, head of consumer protection policy at Which?, expressed concern over the risk and urged the company to investigate how the issue occurred to prevent future incidents.
